Newsflash

Antec power supplies - who'd have 'em? Out of 12 Antec 1650 cases I bought 6 months ago, every one has now needed a replacement PSU. How's that for excellent design?

I've always recommended Antec cases as they are easy to use as a base for a PC, and they (sometimes) include a quality power supply. Well I still use the Sonata case for my higher end builds and they include a PSU. I've only ever replaced two (still two too many) PSUs in those cases.

The 1650 case, though, cannot be recommended. If you have to replace the PSU with a quality item (£40 plus) it makes the case suddenly seem very expensive. This could have been a rant, but I wanted it recorded for posterity! The rants go straight in the bin after I've vented my spleen.

You fear you've lost all your data. Your PC won't start and you haven't done a backup for a while. Your online support have told you to rebuild the PC using the recovery disk, but they've told you that you will lose your data. There's the pictures of the wedding, the video of the kids and the downloaded music. Is it all lost? Almost certainly not. Just let us take your PC away for a short while and the data may well be saved.
